I have nearly exhausted all the free genealogy sites plus my paid membership at newspapers dot com. I’ll use the resources of ancestry dot com when I join for my McDonald family tree.
Meanwhile, I’m posting the oldest newspaper clippings I have found. The two oldest are from England and Scotland in the 1700’s and refer to the town of Bredimus. There is probably historical reference material on these two towns, especially if the anecdotes about our Roman ancestors are true.
The Bredimus family consisted of farmers, laborers, painters, and seamstresses. There were at least four saloon keepers with the name Bredimus in Newark, NJ, Des Moines, Minneapolis, and California. When I write soon about Cousin Harriette Bredimus, I’ll mention how her description of her grandparents differs.
At the bottom of this post are some extracts from old directories. The names and addresses might be useful someday.
BTW, I wonder if Cousin Franklin knew his mother was a champion golfer in Iowa State tournaments?
