He had a beard like his father, Michel Jean. The photo was titled 1907 and Nicolas died the following year. His death certificate (attached) states unknown cause of death.

He died at 827 Lyon in Des Moines.

Nicolas was only 57 years old. His wife and daughter were living in King County, Washington, the following year (which is where we have our summer home).
